Civil society note: the Alliance urges parties to commit to energy and food sovereignty

06 Sep 2026

The note, issued within a national initiative led with AESVT Maroc, calls for building “an integrated development model that strengthens sovereignty and resilience, creates wealth and jobs, and protects natural capital for the benefit of future generations”.

Its authors stress that the stakes ahead coincide with geopolitical tensions, supply chain disruption and climate change, in a context of water scarcity, rising energy and food costs, inflation and youth unemployment.

The note calls for concrete commitments on energy and food sovereignty, protection of natural resources and climate justice.

It forms part of a series of regional encounters designed to open structured dialogue with political parties on the environmental content of the legislative election programmes.
