Our Ambition
The Moroccan Alliance for Climate and Sustainable Development (AMCDD) is a national platform that brings together over 800 associations and association networks engaged in the fields of environment, climate change and sustainable development. Present in all 12 regions of the Kingdom, it constitutes today the main network of environmental civil society in Morocco.
Initiated in 2014 through a participatory approach, the Alliance was created in May 2015. Its legal recognition came during its constituent congress on May 6-7, 2017 in Marrakech, bringing together over 280 representatives from all regions of the Kingdom around the theme: "Environmental civil society: a decisive actor for the transition towards a sustainable development model." Since its creation, AMCDD works to strengthen civil society participation in the development of public policies and has established itself as a credible interlocutor with national and international institutions on climate and sustainable development issues.

AMCDD in Numbers
National and regional governance
AMCDD relies on a democratic organization guaranteeing balanced representation of all regions of the Kingdom. At the national level: a National Congress (all members), a National Council (National Bureau + Regional Coordinators), and a National Bureau (BN Members + Seven thematic commissions). Each regional coordination is composed of a Regional Council and a Regional Bureau.
Key milestones of AMCDD
Official Constitution
Official creation of AMCDD on May 30, 2015 through a 2-year participatory approach, bringing together the majority of Moroccan associations working on climate change.
COP22 Marrakech
Active participation in COP22 in Marrakech. AMCDD carried the national and international call for a just and binding agreement.
Constituent Congress
Over 280 delegates from 12 regions democratically elect the National Council (79 members) and Executive Bureau (23 members) in Marrakech.
CAN MAROC Creation
Official announcement of CAN MAROC (Climate Action Network) creation on October 7, 2018 in Casablanca.
Wetland Protection
National campaign across 12 regions with over 600 participants to protect and develop Morocco's wetlands.
Strategic Orientations
New strategic orientations: internal organization, communication, institutional participation and strengthened national and international partnerships.
