SIAM 2024: arganiculture, an agroforestry system for climate adaptation

The workshop was organised by the National Agency for the Development of Oasian Areas and the Argan Tree.

It highlighted experience in mobilising climate finance, with a first funding round of 49.4 million US dollars from the Green Climate Fund.

This funding is earmarked for developing arganiculture over 10,000 hectares for the benefit of 40,000 beneficiaries in the Souss-Massa region.

For the Alliance, arganiculture illustrates the capacity of agroforestry systems to combine economic development and climate adaptation.
